We went to Vancouver Island and stayed near the Whiffen Spit. This shot shows the layers of color…grasses, seaweed, sand, and sea.
I love it when my RSS feeder comes up with a new post by Steve McCurry. He’s most famous for the image of the young Afghan girl with lovely green eyes that appeared on the cover of National Geographic. Today’s post is Food for Thought and since food is a topic near and dear to my heart and stomach, I had to share it!

This documentary is beautifully done. What a great way to show the collaboration of so many talented people. I would have loved to be there just to watch this team at work.

We were so fortunate to be invited to visit a lotus field on Oahu. In Buddhism, it’s a symbol of our minds. From mud comes a beautiful flower.
I love the “shower heads” that remain and hold the lotus seeds.
